by William Shakespeare

directed by Dan Beaulieu

What you Will, (or twelfth night) is an exploration of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night thrust against the backdrop of Weimar, Berlin. A play overflowing with decadence, indulgence and affluent characters who are endlessly provided for and maddeningly bored, What you Will, (or twelfth night) cautions us against what can happen when entitled people think they live in a world without consequence. By partnering with "unbounded risk taking" 3S Artspace, Seven Stages Shakespeare Company will not only invite you into a brand new space, we will invite you into an old play in a new and entirely immersive way- offering you a chance to "ignite and change the way [you] experience art, music and food".

All performances are FREE FOR ALL, Or Pay What You Will.

Appropriate for ages 18 and up.

Stories & Reviews

"'What you Will, (or twelfth night)' is as it should be, an astute reshaping of a classic play exquisitely realized. This artful production is a breath of fresh air, not to be missed"  Portsmouth Herald, Spotlight Magazine review

"...the play is more like a river: a life force unto itself, ever shifting, full of meanderings, smooth where it runs deep, and roiling in its shallows."  Michael J. Curtiss, CaughtInTheActNH.Blogspot.com

"A haunting, bewildering, and mesmerizing theatrical experience"  ~Audience Member

"I can say no more than this show will shatter your every expectation, make you weak in the knees, and thirsty for more."  ~Audience Member

“an amazing feat by a bunch of seriously creative artists in our community" ~Audience Member

"...everyone in the Seacoast needs to see this show before it ends. Just go see it. Make the time."  ~Audience Member

"I've been thinking of this production throughout the day today. Truly exceptional." ~Audience Member

"No production of Twelfth Night I've ever seen before has been as successful as this one--and I don't anticipate any to be in the future. I'M COMING BACK!" ~Audience Member

"a fascinating production" ~Audience Member

"Wonderfully unconventional use of sound and space, with multiple stages and the majority of the action actually happening in and around the audiences' tables. The casting was simply genius (with a bracing disregard for traditional gender roles) and really turned everything inside out in all the most engaging ways. A true challenge, and a truly auspicious beginning to what I hope will be a long and fruitful partnership with 3S Artspace."  ~Audience Member
