Stages Shakespeare Company presented the first U.S. production of the highly praised new play Being Shakespeare by the preeminent Shakespearean scholar, Jonathan Bate. This inventive work draws from Shakespeare’s plays and poems to further understand just who “the soul of his age” was (and what that age looked like). Highly acclaimed actor Joel Colodner brought to life an aging Lear, Hamlet torn between revenge and doubt, ambitious Macbeth, flawless Henry V ~ all while yearning to get closer to the man moving the quill.
